At the 2018 AGM it was agreed that in future AIDA will hold a community meeting in January each year. The first such meeting, to be held on Tuesday 8 January from 2.00–3.30 pm at the Fairhaven Surf Life Saving Club, is a Community Forum “Will Tourism Kill the Great Ocean Road?” at which the main speaker will be Colleen White, Regional Director, Barwon South West DWELP (Department of Environment, Water, Land and Planning). Everyone in the community is welcome. The forum will also include discussion of the state government’s recently released Great Ocean Road Action Plan and future planning for the Aireys Inlet and District community and environment, and the impacts of recreation and tourism.
